GBX relies upon its comprehensive quality control plan (QCP) to help program managers and technical team members ensure that the performance of each team member, as well as the team as a whole, meets or exceeds the requirements of each GBX client. In its simplest form, the GBX QCP offers a means to confirm that each element of a task is completed in its proper sequence and that its completion satisfies appropriate and agreed upon standards of acceptability. In more detailed forms, QCPs can also identify threats to program management plans and milestone achievement. GBX’s experienced managers anticipate and provide guidance on measures that, under similar circumstances in recent experience, help avoid threats and mitigate any impact on efforts that may have occurred before the threat could be identified.
GBX’s QCP will include a description of the specified tasks and deliverables associated with the mission, subject to changes and updates required by the Navy during the period of performance. GBX feels strongly that each mission essential item requires continual oversight from a quality perspective – one that surpasses the mere technical accomplishment of a task or the submission of a deliverable. GBX uses a continuous feedback cycle that can be easily adapted to the requirements of each program supported. The QCP identifies the roles and responsibilities of the quality control officer and relationship to the GBX program management support team. These step-by-step procedures, and the quality assurance measures associated with these procedures, are critical components of a viable quality program and plan.
